Swiss Chard With Onions
|Green onions/2 medium sized ordinary onions, diced||1 Bunch (100 gm), thinly sliced|
|Bacon||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), diced|
|Young swiss chard||3 Pound|
Wash and slice, crosswise into 1 inch lengths young stalks of Swiss chard, using stem and leaf.
Saute thinly sliced green onions or ordinary onions in oil until golden in color.
If using bacon, add it to the onions and saute until it is lightly browned.
Add Swiss chard and saute briefly just until it is tender but has not lost its green color.
Salt to taste.
