Welsh Rarebit

  Milk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Shredded cheddar cheese 6 Ounce
  Dry mustard 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Red pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Worcestershire sauce 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Egg 1 , well beaten
  French bread slices 4 Large (Toasted)
  Black pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon

Combine first 5 ingredients in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil.
Reduce heat to low; cook, stirring constantly, until cheese melts.
Slowly stir about one fourth of hot cheese mixture into beaten egg; add to remaining hot mixture, stirring constantly.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and just begins to simmer.
Spread sauce over bread and sprinkle black pepper over it.
