Fish And Chips
|Cod/Plaice/haddock||1 , filleted and washed|
|Maize flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Also Called Cornmeal)|
|Sunflower oil/Soya oil||1|
|Peeled raw potatoes||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (1 Portion)|
|Sunflower oil/Soya oil||2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Deep Frying)|
Dip the fish in maize flour (cornmeal) to coat it all over.
Heat .a little oil in a frying pan (skillet).
Fry the fish for about 5 minutes on each side (or less if the fillet is thin) until cooked on the inside and with a crisp golden outside.
Cut the potato into 'fingers'.
Heat the oil until it begins to smoke slightly.
Put in the chips carefully, a few at a time so as not to make the fat bubble too much.
Turn down the heat a little and cook for about 8 to 10 minutes or until the chips are golden and cooked through.
