Savory Unleavened Bread
|Strong flour||100 Gram|
|Lovage/Caraway seeds||1 Teaspoon|
|Natural yogurt||25 Gram|
|Vegetable oil||2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Frying)|
Melt the ghee in a small saucepan until almost smoking.
Sift the flour and salt into a bowl, then stir in the lovage or caraway seeds.
Pour the hot ghee on to the flour mixture and mix well.
Add the yogurt and cold water and mix to a moist dough.
Knead the dough in the bowl for 5-10 minutes, then set aside for 20 minutes or so.
Turn the dough on to a work surface and roll out to a square about 2 cm thick.
Cut into about 12 cubes.
Heat a little oil in a frying pan, add the cubes in batches and shallow fry for about 3 minutes until golden brown.
Drain on absorbent kitchen paper and leave to cool before serving.
