Want to make something that is simple but SO good for the 4th of July?! Try my Red, White, Blueberry Trifle. Easy to assemble and I love putting them in individual mason jars for easy transporting.
For cream mixture | ||
Heavy whipping cream | 8 Ounce | |
Powdered sugar | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
For cheese mixture | ||
Cream cheese | 10 Ounce , softened | |
Zest of lemon | 1 | |
Juice of lemon | 1 | |
Powdered sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
Other ingredients | ||
Angel food cake | 1/2 Pound , cubed | |
Sliced fresh strawberries | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Fresh bluberries | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) |
MAKING
In a bowl with an electric mixer whip together the heaving whipping and powdered sugar until fluffy. Set aside
In another bowl, add the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and lemon juice and mix until light and fluffy
Add only half of the whipped cream to the cream cheese mixture and stir to combine
Add the rest of the whipped cream to the cream cheese and lightly fold.
In a mason jar, at the bottom add the sliced strawberries, followed by the angel food cake pieces, a large dollop of the cream cheese mixture, then the blueberries. Repeat the process until it is to the top.
SERVING
Serve for dessert.
