Beater Whisk is one of the types of whisks available for doing several cooking jobs. It is made of nylon and almost resembles a small broom when opened up. It has a small ring around it which can be slid up or down to close or open it up. The ring has an additional ring to it, which is used for hanging it on a wall. This type of whisk when closed occupies less space in the drawer and does not get tangled with other utensils, unlike the balloon whisk. It is compact, space saving and functional. Additionally, it also adds color to the kitchen. It is also known as – Foldable Whisk.
History
The beater whisk is a relatively new design which has been created by three batch mates. Carsten Schelling, Ralf Webermann and Sven Rudolph studied together at FH Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts. They started their own design studio in the year 2005, called the – Ding3000 – which specializes in product design. They were inspired by a bunch of straws to create the beater whisk which has won the Red Dot Design Award for 2012 in the Product Design category.
Uses
The beater whisk can be used as a regular beater or whisker as the name suggests. Hence, it can be used for mixing the batter or for combining the ingredients of a salad dressing. Alternatively, it is also used to stir a stew or sauce cooking on the stove.
