Anthora Cup is the ubiquitous paper coffee cup found in every kiosk, café or restaurant offering coffee on the go. The cup was first designed by Leslie Buck in the year 1963, with an aim to attract Greek owners of coffee shops in the New York City. The first design was made in blue and white colour which are the colours of the Greek flag. The cup had a traditional amphora design and bore the words “We are happy to serve you”, written in font which resembled Greek writing. It also had a meander design along the top and the bottom rim.
