This video documents a temperature test for the Hot Pot solar cooker. The thermometer cranks up with every passing hour for this one. The hot pot reached 300 degrees Farenheit after 1 hour and 350 degrees Farenheit after 1 and 1/2 hours which would be a good temperature to get things cooking. However, the homemade cooker with the worn out car shade for a reflector definitely went slack on efficacy and could reach the 250 degrees Farenheit mark in one hour. The choice is definitely yours to make if you are a solar cooking enthusiast.
