Authentic Egg Nog

  Eggs 10 Small, separated
  Sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Milk 1 Quart
  Heavy cream 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vanilla 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Brandy 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Light rum 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Nutmeg 1

In a large mixing bowl, beat egg yolks until foamy.
Add sugar; continue beating until mixture is lemon-colored.
Stir in milk and cream.
With clean beaters, beat egg whites in a separate bowl until stiff.
Gradually beat in vanilla, then brandy and rum.
Fold into milk mixture.
Sprinkle with nutmeg.
