|White corn syrup||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Almond extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Combine egg whites, salt, syrup, sugar, and water in 2-quart Saucepan.
Place over medium-high heat and blend.
Then reduce heat to very low.
Meanwhile, beat constantly with rotary or electric beater (7 to 10 minutes) until mixture will hold a peak.
Add flavorings and blend.
Cool slightly and beat until thick for spreading.
Frosting to cover tops and sides of two 9-inch layers.
