Without peeling cut off tops of tomatoes; remove seeds.
Place tomato shells in shallow greased casserole and sprinkle with oil, salt, and pepper.
Break 1 egg into each tomato.
Sprinkle a little more oil, salt, pepper, and some of the oregano on each egg.
Bake in preheated hot oven (425°F.) for 20 minutes, or until egg is set and tomato cooked.
Serve on slices of fried bread.
