Savory Scotch Eggs
|White bread slice||2|
|Onions||2 , finely chopped|
|Ground beef||1 Pound|
|Paprika pepper||1 Teaspoon|
|White pepper||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Sprinkle the bread with the water and leave to soak.
Squeeze out and crumble into small pieces.
Mix with the onions, meat, salt, paprika and pepper.
Hard-cook the eggs, then plunge into cold water.
When they are cool, shell them and pat dry with paper towels.
Divide the meat mixture between each egg, pressing it on firmly and rounding into a ball.
Melt the butter in a frying pan.
Add the balls and fry, turning carefully, for 10-15 minutes, until well browned and cooked through.
Serve hot with buttered noodles, carrots and peas.
