Egg Yolk Crust
|All purpose flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Granulated sugar||1 Teaspoon|
|Butter-flavored shortening||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Egg yolk||1 , slightly beaten|
Combine flour, salt, and sugar replacement in food processor or bowl.
Cut in shortening, using on/off switch or short cuts.
Add egg yolk and mix thoroughly.
Press dough into bottom of 8 or 9 in. (20 or 23 cm) pie pan, springform pan, or tart pans.
Add filling as directed in your pie recipe or fill with pie weights.
Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 10 minutes or until crust is slightly brown.
