Wash greens; remove tough stems and bruised leaves.
Combine greens and bacon in saucepan in 1 1/2 quarts water; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat; simmer, covered, for 45 minutes or until greens are tender.
Sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl; add egg, milk and butter.
Stir until batter is well mixed.
Drop dumplings by teaspoonfuls into greens.
Cover tightly; simmer for 15 minutes.
