Boiled Turkey Vegetable and Dumpling Dinner
|Ready to cook turkey||6 Pound (1 Whole)|
|Water||5 Cup (80 tbs)|
|Onion||1 , cut up|
|Celery stalks||2 , cut up|
|All purpose flour||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Frozen mixed vegetables||20 Ounce (2 Packages, 10 Ounces Each)|
|Savory dumpling batter||1 Cup (16 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed)|
Simmer with water and next 4 ingredients for 2 1/2 hours, or until very tender.
Lift out turkey, and remove meat from bones; keep hot.
Strain broth; thicken with flour mixed with a little cold water.
Add mixed vegetables, and bring to boil.
Drop in Savory Dumpling Batter by tablespoonfuls.
Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes.
Put turkey on platter; lift out dumplings and vegetables and arrange around turkey.
Pour some of gravy over turkey, and serve remainder in bowl.
Lefover small pieces of turkey can be used for salad.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
