Crystallized Fruit Dumplings's picture
  Glutinous rice flour 2 Cup (32 tbs) (Sweet Rice)
  Finely chopped dates 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Finely shredded crystallized fruits/Glace fruit 3 Tablespoon (Or Chopped)
  Toasted sesame seeds 1 Tablespoon
  Brown sugar 3 Tablespoon
  Frying oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Deep Frying)
  Confectionery sugar 1 Tablespoon (For Sprinkling)

Put the flour in a bowl and gradually stir in 3/4-1 cup warm water to form a soft smooth dough.
Shape into a roll about 1 1/2 inches thick.
Slice rounds off the roll about 1/4 inch thick.
Mix together the dates, fruits, sesame seeds and sugar.
Place a little of the mixture in the center of each round of dough.
Wrap the dough around the filling to enclose it completely.
Heat the oil to 350° or until a cube of bread dropped into the oil instantly rises to the surface.
Fry the dumplings, a few at a time, until they are golden brown.
Drain on paper towels and serve hot, dredged with confectioners' sugar.
