|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Flour||1 Cup (16 tbs), sifted|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Granulated sugar||2 Tablespoon|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Heat berries, 1 cup sugar and water over medium heat until boiling.
Meanwhile in bowl, sift flour, baking powder, salt and 2 Tbsp.sugar.
Cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture is like coarse crumbs.
Lightly mix in milk with fork to form soft dough.
Drop dough by spoonfuls into boiling fruit.
Simmer uncovered 10 minutes, then cover and simmer 10 minutes longer.
