Grouse With Cornmeal Dumplings
|Water||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Chicken bouillon cubes||3 , dissolved in 2 1/2 cup boiling water|
|Flour||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), blended with 1/2 cup water|
|Cornmeal||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Tablespoon|
|Dried sage||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Flour||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
Place grouse and water in oven cooking bag.
Bake 350°F.2 hours.
Cool and cube meat.
Over medium heat, stir together bouillon and flour water mixture.
Cook until thickened.
Stir together cornmeal, baking powder, salt, sage, egg, milk and flour.
Drop by tablespoonfuls into gently simmering sauce.
Cover and cook 15 to 20 minutes.
