Butter Dumplings

  Egg 1 , beaten
  Softened butter 3 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Celery salt 1 Dash
  Paprika 1 Dash
  Ground thyme 1 Dash
  Minced parsley 1 Teaspoon
  Minced chives 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Unbleached flour 5 1⁄2 Tablespoon

Mix together egg, butter, seasonings and herbs.
Stir in flour and let stand at room temperature 1 hour.
Drop by teaspoonfuls into gently boiling salted water or broth.
They are cooked when they rise to the surface.
