Almond Dumplings

Ingredients
  Crushed unsalted cracker crumbs 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Blanched whole almonds 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), coarsely ground
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Browned butter 3 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  White pepper powder 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Garlic powder 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Freshly grated lemon peel 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Unbleached flour 1 Cup (16 tbs) (If Needed)
Directions

Mix together all ingredients, chill and form into small balls, using flour if needed to make a workable dough.
Drop by half teaspoonfuls into gently boiling salted water or broth; cook 5 minutes or until balls rise to surface.
