Clean the duckling as for roasting.
Rub inside with salt.
Prick skin and truss well.
Balance on spit securing with holding forks.
Arrange hot coals at, back and sides of fire box.
Place a foil drip pan in front of coals and under the spit.
Attach spit, turn on motor and lower the barbecue hood.
Let duck rotate over medium coals about 2 hours or till done.
The last 10 minutes of roasting time sprinkle the duck with sugar and dash pepper.
Continue roasting till brown.
