The story behind its creation is quiet interesting and involves a legal battle between Tony Mason and Jack Daniel Distillery. According to Mason, the recipe for Lynchburg was his trade secret and it was stolen by the sales representative of the distillery. A suit was filed against the Jack Daniel distillery in 1987 and Mason claimed damage charges for embezzling his recipe.
 

However, after a long battle, Tony Mason was only compensated with nominal charge of one dollar and Jack Daniel promoted Lynchburg lemonade in a national campaign and gained lots of success.

Tennessee whiskey is the primary component of Lynchburg lemonade. Other ingredients are triple sec, lime soda and sour mix. All the ingredients are mixed in proportions to get the perfect alcoholic taste with zesty lemon flavor.
 

The archetypal recipe of the drink includes 1 part of each Jack Daniel, sour mix and triple sec that are blended with 4 parts of lemon soda.
