Alamagoozlum Cocktail

Supposedly this was J P Morgan’s Alamagoozlum, according to Charles H. Baker, Jr. in the 1939 classic, The Gentleman’s Companion. One wonders about the origin of the name.
Ingredients
  Genever gin 2 Ounce
  Water 2 Ounce
  Jamaican rum 1 1⁄2 Ounce
  Yellow chartreuse 1 1⁄2 Ounce
  Simple syrup 1 1⁄2 Ounce
  Orange curacao 1⁄2 Ounce
  Angostura bitters 1⁄2 Ounce
  Egg white 1⁄2 Medium
Directions

MAKING
1. Add the gin, water, jamaican rum, yellow or green chartreuse, simple syrup, orange curacao, angostura bitters and egg white in a shaker and shake viciously over ice.
2. Strain into chilled cocktail glasses.

SERVING
3. Serve chilled.
