When you want to be an expert in mixing and preparing drinks, then you should be informed about how to mix a few classic drinks. Without the knowledge of mixing classic drinks, you cannot have your expertise in this field. These classic drinks are popular all over the world and they are some way linked to certain traditions and cultures for more than a half-century.


Sherry Cobbler

Being one of the classic choices, you will find several variations of this drink. The original drink recipe contains syrup and garnishing with fresh fruits. To prepare the drink, you should fill a wine glass with 6-8 cracked ice cubes and on top of that pour ¼ teaspoon of sugar syrup and ¼ teaspoon of Curacao. Stir these ingredients to form frost and then top up with 4 parts of sherry. Stir well and garnish with pineapple wedge and twisted lemon peel.


Margarita

It is the most popular Mexican drink based on tequila, which was first prepared in the year 1942 as an attribute to Francisco Morales. First prepare the glass by rubbing lime on the rim of the glass and then dipping the rim over coarse salt. In a cocktail shaker, take 5-6 crushed ice cubes, 3 parts of white tequila, 1 part of triple sec and 2 parts of lime juice to give a thorough shake. Strain this drink into the salt-rimmed glass and garnish with lime wedge.


Egg Nog

In earlier days, this drink was actually used as an energy boost for feeling down during the winter months. To prepare this energy booster drink, you need whisking 1 egg with 2 parts of brandy or any spirit milk and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Pour this mixture in a tall glass and fill the remaining part with chilled milk. Garnish by sprinkling freshly grated nutmeg on top.


Pina Colada

Although this drink is considered among the classics, it was not so popular before 1980s. For this drink, you have to use the blender machine to smoothly blend 5-6 ice cubes, 2 parts of white rum, 1 part of dark rum, 3 parts of cream of coconut. Pour this mixture into a chilled tall glass and garnish wirh pineapple wedge to serve.


Cuba Libre

This drink became popular among the 60’s and 70’s generations. Authentically this drink should contain a proportion of Cuban rum. To serve the drink you should take high ball glass, which half filled with ice. Pour 2 parts of White rum over the ice and then fill the glass with cola. Stir gently to mix well both the ingredients and then garnish with lime wedge.


Manhattan

The popularity of this drink can be compared with the popularity of the place, having the same name. The cocktail Manhattan is said to be invented by Jennie, the American mother of Sir Winston Churchill. You should take a mixing glass to mix 3 parts of rye whiskey, 1 part of sweet vermouth and dash of Angostura bitter to mix with 5-6 crushed ice cubes. Strain the drink into a chilled glass and before serving, garnish with cherry.


Long Island Iced Tea

This traditional drink was supposed to be consumed using cups and not cocktail glass, with an intention to deceive people for iced tea. The original version of iced tea was a combination of vodka and cola, which has largely modified to generate the latest recipe. Take a cocktail shaker to shake 2 parts of vodka, 1 part of gin, 1 part of white tequila, 1 part of white rum, ½ part of white crème de menthe, 2 parts of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of sugar syrup with crushed ice cubes. Strain the drink into a half ice-filled highball glass and fill the remaining part with cola. Garnish with lime wedge before serving.


Bloody Mary

This was the invention of famous Harry’s Bar at Paris, in the year 1921. This popular classic drink has several variations making the drink much spicy and much hot. You should find a cocktail shaker to dash Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco sauce over the crushed ice cubes. Now add 2 parts of vodka, 6 parts of tomato juice, ½ part of lemon juice, pinch of celery salt and pinch of cayenne pepper to the shaker and give a vigorous shake. Strain the drink into a chilled tall glass and garnish with celery stick and lemon slice.


Pink Gin

This drink was primarily derived to work as a remedy in case of stomach problems. To make this, you should take a mixing glass to pour 1 part of Plymouth gin, 1 part of iced water and 2-3 drops of Angostura bitters. Stir the ingredients properly and then strain into a cocktail glass. Use Maraschino cherry to garnish the drink.


Rolls Royce

This classic drink has the same classical touch of the famous Rolls Royce on the road. To prepare the drink, you should take a mixing glass to fill with 5-6 cracked ice cubes. Add dash of orange bitter to this and pour 1 part of dry gin, 2 part of dry vermouth and 1 part of Scotch whiskey to stir well. Strain the drink into a chilled cocktail glass.
