Transparent Dressing For Tomatoes
|Sugar||75 Milliliter (1/3 Cup)|
|Dry mustard||1 Teaspoon|
|Celery seed||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Onion powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Vinegar||60 Milliliter (4 Tablespoon)|
|Vegetable oil||250 Milliliter (1 Cup)|
|Beefsteak tomatoes||4 , thickly sliced|
In a small bowl mix together the first 7 ingredients.
Using an electric mixer, blender, or hand held beater such as a "Multipractic", beat consistently as you gradually pour in the vegetable oil.
Continue to beat until the mixture is thick and shiny.
Arrange the tomatoes in a shallow dish and pour the dressing over top.
Make sure that all areas of the tomatoes are coated.
Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
Toss or turn the tomato slices in the dressing gently before serving on lettuce leaves.
