Use one 2-pound fresh or frozen dressed fish.
Thaw frozen fish.
Remove head, if desired.
Rinse and dry fish.
Place fish on greased rack of broiler pan or in greased baking pan.
Melt 3 tablespoons butter.
Brush fish, inside and outside, with some of the butter and season with 1 teaspoon salt and dash pepper.
Broil about 4 inches from heat for 5 to 8 minutes.
Turn and brush with melted butter.
Broil till fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, 5 to 8 minutes longer.
