Chestnut Dressing

Give this excellent and innovative style of Chestnut Dressing a try. Quick and simple, this Chestnut Dressing is a wonderfully straightforward recipe that is worth your time and effort!
Ingredients
  Chestnuts 1⁄2 Pound
  Lightly packed crumbs 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Melted butter/Margarine 3 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Dried sage 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Egg 1 , well beaten
  Cream/Top milk 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Wash chestnuts and make a gash in each shell.
Bake in a very hot oven 500°F.
for 15 minutes.
Cool and remove shells and skins.
Cook in boiling salted water for 20 minutes.
Drain and chop fine.
Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Makes about 4 cups of dressing.
