|Vinegar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Red pepper||To Taste|
Cook vinegar, water, and sugar until sugar is dissolved.
Then add the well-beaten egg slowly.
It is better to add a few drops at a time to hot mixture and season with salt and pepper.
In another cup, mix the butter and flour with a little of the hot mixture until it makes a smooth paste; then add to the vinegar-sugar-egg syrup and stir constantly until it begins to thicken.
Cool and mix with cabbage.
