Healthycooking's picture
This ranch dressing is a savory salad dressing prepared with buttermilk as base. Flavored with garlic, parsley, marjoram and onions, the ranch dressing goes well with meaty salads and can be stored in the fridge.
  Olive oil 4 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cider vinegar 2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Dried marjoram 1⁄4 Teaspoon, crumbled
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
Low fat plain yogurt 3 Tablespoon
  Buttermilk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Chopped yellow onion 2 Tablespoon
Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), minced
  Minced parsley 2 Tablespoon

In a medium size bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, sugar, marjoram, and salt.
Whisk in the yogurt and buttermilk, then stir in the onion, garlic and parsley.
Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 6 hours or overnight to thicken.
Whisk the dressing again before serving.
Store any leftover dressing in a tightly covered jar in the refrigerator and shake well before each use.
