Drop Yeast Doughnuts
|Active dry yeast||4 1⁄2 Teaspoon (Two 2 1/4 Teaspoon Packages)|
|Warm water||2 Cup (32 tbs) (105 Degrees To 115 Degrees Fahrenheit)|
|All purpose flour||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Vegetable oil/Olive oil / combination of the two||2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Deep Frying)|
Dissolve yeast in 1 cup warm water in a small bowl.
Add 1 1/2 cups flour to yeast.
Beat batter with a wooden spoon until smooth.
Cover with a towel and put into a warm place until batter is double in bulk.
Pour into a larger bowl, add remaining water, salt, and flour to make a thick but runny batter.
Cover with a towel and put into a warm place until batter is double in bulk and begins to bubble.
Half fill a deep fryer with oil.
Heat just until smoking.
Drop batter by tablespoonfuls into oil; occasionally dip spoon in oil before dipping in batter.
Cook until golden brown.
Remove with a slotted spoon.
Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon.
