|Flour||4 Cup (64 tbs) (Leveled)|
|Fat||2 Cup (32 tbs) (For deep frying)|
|Baking powder||3 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Whole eggs/3 yolks||2 , well beaten|
|Melted lard||3 Tablespoon|
|Sweet milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cream sugar, fat and eggs.
Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk.
Roll soft dough on floured canvas.
Cut with doughnut cutter.
Cook in preheated 375° frying fat until golden brown.
Use fork to flip over but do not pierce for it will cause doughnuts to absorb fat.
Remove from fat and cool.
May be dusted with powdered sugar, rolled in granulated sugar or frosted with powdered sugar icing.
Makes 24 to 30 medium doughnuts.
