Raised Doughnuts

Ingredients
  Shortening 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Boiling water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cold water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1 Dash
  Flour 8 Cup (128 tbs)
  Yeast cakes/Package 2
Directions

Dissolve 2 yeast cakes in 1/2 CUP warm water.
In mixing bowl put in shortening, boiling water and cold water.
Add beaten eggs, sugar, salt and dash of nutmeg.
Then add dissolved yeast and gradually mix in sifted flour into a smooth dough.
Place in refrigerator overnight.
Roll out on floured board to about 1/2 inch thickness.
Cut with cutter coated in flour.
Let doughnuts raise for 1 hour.
Then place doughnuts in deep shortening and fry on each side until golden brown.
Take them out of deep fat and place on paper toweling or brown paper.
May be eaten plain, rolled in granulated or powdered sugar.
