Ingredients
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Sugar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking powder 5 Teaspoon
  Eggs 4
  Milk 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Flour 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Nutmeg 1 Teaspoon
Directions

cream together shortening & 1 cup of sugar, then add all eggs and beat well with mixer mix other dry ingreeients except for sencond cup of sugar in seperate bowl. Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients, BEAT WELL, with mixer. Add. last cup of sugar, Fill donut forms to 1/8th" below top level of bottom plate.
yeilds 36 donuts.

this recipe was in the original box of recipes that were in the box, but since then booklet had been lost, luckily i wrote down the recipe i liked from it, that tasted like the hostess donuts you can buy in the store. but also moister then them . i will try changing the recipes eventually and also putting them on this site as well as other Pennsylvania baked goods recipes. hope you all keep looking for them, LaMont H. Bake the donuts for 25min @ 180C in a preheated oven

Can you please share me a yeast raised donut recipe. I noticed freshly fried donuts turn stale after just an hour in room temp, do you know any additives/chemical/ingredients we can add to the basic donut recipe so that it stays soft even for just 8hrs in room temp just like donuts from Dunkin?
