Yeast doughnuts don't have to be hard or complicated to make. These are as easy as biscuits!

Ingredients

Active dry yeast 1 Teaspoon
Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs) , at room temperature
All purpose flour 2 1/2 Cup (40 tbs) ((625 mL))
Baking powder 2 1/2 Teaspoon
Sugar 2 Tablespoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Butter 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , frozen, cubed ((125 mL))
Vegetable oil 2 Liter ((For deep frying))

Directions

MAKING

1. Dissolve yeast in milk and set aside.

2. In food processor, place flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and butter. Pulse until combined.

3. Add milk yeast mixture, and pulse, just until the mixture starts to come together.

4. On floured surface, transfer the dough and knead lightly.

5. Roll the dough out to about ½- inch thick sheet, and use a doughnut cutter to cut out as many doughnuts as you can. Re-rolling the dough scraps until done. Set aside the cut pieces on lined baking sheet for 30 minutes.

6. In Dutch oven, heat about 2 inches of oil until it reaches 350 degree F or 170 degree C.

7. Fry 3 doughnuts at a time in hot oil for about 1½ minutes per side, turning over once.

8. Transfer to cooling rack and let drain.

SERVING

9. Dip in chocolate glaze, sprinkle sugar and serve.
