Dough, often made in variable paste-like consistency, it is made with leguminous crops or cereals, mostly wheat grains and small amount of water or milk. Apart from the simple chapatis or pranthas, the dough is used to make pancakes, noodles, crusts or pastries. Wheat, maize, rice are the most popular ingredients for making dough, which is prepared using the method of kneading, either manual or in a machine. In some parts of the South Asian subcontinent, chefs add salt, clarified butter, cumin to enhance the flavor of the dough.
