Basic Scone Dough
|Self raising flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Milk||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
Sift flour and baking powder or self-raising flour with salt into a mixing bowl.
Rub butter into flour lightly with the fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Make a well in the centre of the flour, pour in milk and mix with a round bladed knife to a soft dough.
Turn on to a lightly floured board and knead very lightly until smooth (about 10 kneads).
Roll out 1/2-inch thick and use as required.
