Baking Powder Based Dough

Ingredients
  Self raising flour 8 Ounce (2 Cups, 250 Gram)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Sugar 2 Teaspoon
  Butter 2 Ounce, chopped (60 Gram)
  Egg 1 , lightly beaten
  Milk 4 Fluid Ounce (1/2 Cup, 125 Milliliter)
Directions

1. Sift flour and baking powder together into a bowl, add sugar. Using your fingertips, rub in butter until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
2. Make a well in the center of flour mixture and using a round-ended knife, mix in egg and enough milk to form a soft dough.
3. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead with fingertips until smooth. Using heel of hand, press dough out evenly, shape as desired, then bake at 220° C / 425° F / Gas 7 until cooked and golden.
