About 30 years ago, some researchers came up with a "multi-vitamin diet" plan for schizophrenia which involved administering huge doses of vitamins to patients to control the condition and try to reverse it. Although this schizophrenia diet has not been backed by many, some schools of thought still believe in it and encourage patients of the condition to eat lots of vitamins.

 

Schizophrenia: Foods to be Avoided

Patients affected with schizophrenia have almost zero physical activity. As their condition worsens, they tend to confine themselves to one place, seldom going out or indulging in any physical activity. This makes these people prone to heart diseases, obesity, hypertension and other weight-related illnesses. As a general rule, therefore, high calorie and fat foods are strictly avoided. Alcohol is also completely eliminated from the diet plan as it tends to worsen the symptoms of schizophrenia.
