|Butter/Margarine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Pitted chopped dates||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Chopped maraschino cherries||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|High protein cereal||3 Cup (48 tbs) (Fortified)|
|Finely chopped nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Canned flaked coconut||3 1⁄2 Ounce (1 Can)|
Place butter in a 3 qt.glass casserole dish.
Microwave 1 to 2 minutes or until melted.
Stir in dates, sugar and cherries.
Cover and microwave 3 to 4 minutes or until dates soften.
Stir every minute during cooking.
Remove from oven and stir until mixture forms a soft paste.
Add cereal and nuts.
Butter hands and shape into balls.
Roll balls in flaked coconut, place on wax paper and let stand until cool.
