Date bridge dessert is a frozen dessert made with a base of chocolate sandwich cookie crubs. Filled with a cooked date and marshmellow mixture with nuts and topped with whipped cream, the date bridge dessert is chewy and creamy with loads of indulgence.
Crush 12 chocolate sandwich cookies (about 1 1/3 cups crumbs); reserve 1/4 cup crumbs.
Spread remaining crumbs in bottom of 10x6x1 1/2 inch baking dish.
In saucepan, combine 1 cup pitted dates, cut up, 3/4 cup water and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Bring to a boil, then simmer about 3 minutes.
Remove from heat; add 1/4 pound (16) marshmallows or 2 cups tiny marshmallows; stir till marshmallows melt.
Cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes.
Stir in 1/2 cup chopped California walnuts.
Spread over crumbs in dish.
Whip 1 cup heavy cream with 1/2 teaspoon vanilla; swirl whipped cream over date mixture.
Sprinkle with reserved cooky crumbs.
Cut in squares to serve.
