The date and nut dessert is a baked dessert that is prepared with a batter of eggs, sugar and flour along with dates an walnuts. The date and nut dessert is rich and chewy with a great texture and is best served with ice cream.
Add 3/4 cup sugar gradually to 3 beaten eggs, beating till thick and light.
Sift together 1/4 cup sifted enriched flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt; fold into egg mixture.
Fold in 1 cup each chopped dates and chopped walnuts.
Turn into greased 8x8x2 inch pan.
Bake at 350Â° about 40 minutes or till done.
Cut in 8 squares; serve warm with ice cream.
