Gateau Aux Dates
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Dates||2 Cup (32 tbs), chopped|
|Walnuts||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
Beat the eggs in a mixing bowl until light in color.
Gradually add the sugar and beat until well blended.
Add the milk and beat until the sugar is dissolved.
Stir in the flour, baking powder and cinnamon.
Add the nuts and dates, mixing well.
Pour the cake mixture into a lightly greased nine-inch round or square pan.
Bake at 350 degrees about twenty minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center come out clean.
When cool, cut into squares.
This cookie keeps well when stored in a cookie tin.
