|Icing sugar||2 Ounce|
|Ground almonds||2 Ounce|
|Egg||1 (If Small, Use Whole White, If Larger, Half The White)|
|Pink food color||3 Drop|
|Green food color||3 Drop|
|Dates||1⁄2 Pound (1 Box)|
1 In a bowl, sieve the icing sugar and combine it with the ground almonds.
2 Separate the egg yolk from the egg white.
3 In another bowl, beat the egg white lightly with fork.
4 Gradually add the dry ingredients to form a soft, firm paste.
5 Turn paste out on to sugared board.
6 If the dough is too soft, add in some more icing sugar to make paste pliable.
7 Knead the mixture very lightly, until it is quite smooth.
8 Divide into two equal portions.
9 Dip the skewer into colouring bottles.
10 Colour one half of paste pink and the other pale green.
11 Carefully remove the stones without spoiling the shape of the dates, using the point of the small knife,
12 Make the almond paste into small, sausage-shaped pieces.
13 Place one in each date.
14 Decorate the dates with mimosa and silver balls.
15 Put the dates into paper cases.
16 Pack into box when dry, serve as desired.
