Ingredients
  Self raising flour 1⁄2 Pound
  Mixed spice 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Shelled walnuts 1 Ounce
  Milk 5 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Ounce
  Cooking dates 3 Ounce
  Syrup 2 Tablespoon
  Malt extract 2 Tablespoon (Leveled)
Directions

Grease a 1 -lb.
bread tin.
Sieve flour with salt and spice, add sugar, chopped walnuts and dates.
Warm malt with milk and syrup in pan over gentle heat and add to dry ingredients.
Beat well and put into prepared tin.
Bake in a slow oven (350° F - Regulo 3) for 1 hour.
Turn out and cool on a wire rack.
