|Desiccated coconut||4 Ounce (115 Gram)|
|Toasted nuts||8 Ounce, chopped (225 Gram, Walnuts, Almonds, Pistachio, Hazel Nuts Or Pecan Nuts)|
Break the biscuits into rough pieces about quarter of the original size.
Chop the dates very finely.
Melt the butter and sugar in a pan on a medium heat.
Keep stirring until the sugar has dissolved and the butter has melted completely.
Add the dates to this and simmer slowly until they have softened.
Remove from the heat and quickly add the well -beaten eggs.
Beat into the mixture.
Return to the stove and add the biscuits.
Save a little of the nuts and coconut and add the remaining into the mixture.
Cook gently for a few minutes until all the ingredients are well mixed.
Turn out on to foil and shape into a roll.
Sprinkle with remaining nuts and coconut then wrap in foil.
Chill for a few hours before slicing thinly with a sharp knife.
