Stuffed date Drops

Ingredients
  Pitted dates 1 Pound (70 Pieces)
  Pecan halves 3 Ounce (1 Package)
  Shortening 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Medium brown sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Sifted enriched flour 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)
  Baking powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Dairy sour cream 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Stuff dates with nut halves.
Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar; beat in egg.
Sift together dry ingredients; add alternately with sour cream to creamed mixture.
Stir in dates.
Drop onto greased cooky sheet (one date per cooky).
Bake at 400° 8 to 10 minutes.
Cool.
Top with Golden Frosting.
