Date Roly Poly
|Plain flour||12 Ounce|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon (Rounded Teaspoon)|
|Chopped suet||6 Ounce|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs) (As Required To Mix)|
Chop the dates.
Sift together the flour, baking-powder and salt.
Add the suet and dates.
Add sufficient water to mix to a soft, but firm, dough.
Form into a roll and place at the end of a well-floured pudding cloth.
Roll up loosely and tie firmly at either end, into a sausage-shape.
Drop into boiling water and simmer 2—2 1/2 hr. Serve with custard.
