Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Pitted dates 1 Pound, cut up
  Egg 1 , well beaten
  Milk 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Chopped nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Crushed wheaties 2 Cup (32 tbs) (4 Cups Before Crushing)
  Finely chopped nuts/Finely chopped coconut 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Mix butter, sugar, and dates.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until butter melts.
Remove from heat.
Mix egg, milk, salt, and vanilla; add to date mixture.
Cook over very low heat, stirring constantly, about 4 min., or until dates are soft and blen
