Satin Glazed Date Drops
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Packed brown sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Commercial sour cream||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Gold medal flour||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Chopped walnuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Soft pitted dates||1 Pound (48 Pieces)|
|Satin glaze||2 Tablespoon|
Heat oven to 400°
Mix butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until fluffy.
Stir in sour cream.
Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting.
Blend dry ingredients; mix into sugar mixture.
Stir in nuts and dates.
If dates are large, cut them in half before adding to dough and use half as many.
Drop by tea-spoonfuls (1 date in each cooky) on lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake about 10 min.
Cool and frost with Glaze.
