Pecan Date Ring
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (1 Stick)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped pecans||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Date bread mix||15 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs) (As Needed)|
1. Melt butter or margarine in a small saucepan; remove from heat. Stir in brown sugar and vanilla.
2. Sprinkle pecans into a greased 7-cup ring mold; pour sugar syrup over.
3. Prepare date-bread mix with egg and waiter, following label directions; spoon .over pecan mixture in mold.
4. Bake in moderate oven (350°) 40 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted pear center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes in mold on a wire rack; invert onto a serving plate
